Afrochella attracts thousands of people to Ghana for an unforgettable celebration of culture, music and diversity.   • When it started

Afrochella started in 2017 with co-founders Kenny Agyapong and Abdul Karim Abdullah, both men who had made names for themselves throwing parties in New York. They arrived in Ghana, reached out to Edward Adjaye, the current Chief Operations Officer, and started work. What took time in starting became an instant success, and for three years running, Culture Management Group, the company behind the festival, have always delivered a great experience and continue to look to the future to doing so.

You can witness the young talents and artists of Africa showcasing their talent and work in the festival of culture and diversity. The whole vibe of the festival is peppy and colourful as all the big celebrities are invited for the event. You can locate many local and international artisans displaying their products like locally weaved clothes and décor items. Also, among any exciting activities face painting and henna stations are also available during the event for guests to receive beautiful designs on their faces, hands and feet.

It not only helps to boost the tourists to travel to Ghana but also has become a symbol of celebration of culture in the continent. The festival is a 10-days festival majorly conducted in December.

This year, Afrochella’s theme was “AfroFuturism,” a term created to reflect on the past, explore the future and create a progressive path for the African diaspora. It was studded with hottest African Afrobeat and amapiano artists, including Daliwonga, Focalistic, Stonebwoy, Young Stunna, Gyakie, Nirvana Nokwe, Venom & Shisilize, UncleParty Time, DJ Pizaro, DJ Loft, Leddi G and Kojo Manuel.
